News about hypnosis and weight loss!

from the October 2003 issue of Woman's World Magazine.

University of Connecticut scientists analysed existing weight loss studies, they found test subjects using hypnotherapy techniques lost 60% more weight than those using other strategies.

"At the final assessment, the average weight loss was 6.03 lbs without hypnosis and 14.88 lbs with hypnosis" said lead researcher Irving Kirsch, Phd.

Meanwhile a study published in the International Journal of Eating Disorders showed that hypnosis is effective even in small doses. After three months, test subjects who had used hypnosis techniques just once had lost nearly twice as much weight as a control group. Separate research demonstrated that using self hypnosis was just as effective as being hypnotised by a psychologist and folks using either form of hypnotherapy got substantially better results than those who used neither technique.
