Over the past ten years in
the clinic, certain questions
seem to have come up time and
time again as people become
interested in the power of hypnosis.
If you have questions, or concerns,
please check out this list -
and if it doesn't answer your
question, then please feel free
to telephone or email
and we'll get right back to
you.

What can
hypnosis do for me?
Hypnosis can change a habit
you wish to change: smoking,
overeating, study habits, interrupted
sleep patterns, nail biting,
and more.
It can also build new patterns
or habits: successful public
speaking, confidence, regular
exercise, eating pattern, de-stress
techniques, focusing, technique
enhancement for playing sports
or music.
Hypnosis can alleviate: shyness,
pain, guilt, anger, anxiety,
phobias and fears.
What
will happen in the session?
On your first
visit you will learn about hypnosis
and take the time to be comfortable
with it. Your hypnotherapist
will discuss your interests
and requirements to determine
if hypnotherapy can accomplish
what you want to achieve.
Each session includes training
in Self Hypnosis so that you
can continue the benefits in
the comfort of your own home.
The first session is 1 ½ hours,
subsequent sessions are 45-60
minutes.
The total process is a gentle,
relaxing experience that leaves
you feeling energized, refreshed
and comfortable with your new
goals.
Will
I remember everything that happens
in the session?
Yes, if you want to. Sometimes
the conscious mind chooses to
not remember, but that's your
choice.
Can
anyone be hypnotized?
Yes, if they want
to. And if they have a goal
they want to achieve. Most practitioners
will not hypnotize children
under six or adults with a medical
situation like epilepsy.
Are
there any side effects from
hypnosis?
Only good ones!
You'll feel relaxed. More in
control. Sometimes clients find
they remember their dreams more
often.
Will
I always have the same facilitator
working with me?
Yes, absolutely, unless for
some reason you decide you prefer
someone else.
Sometimes when
we start work on clearing a
habit or phobia, underlying
emotional issues surface, and
we recommend that you work with
one of our hypnotherapists who
has the training to help you
through this. Otherwise you
stay with your original hypnotherapist
as long as you wish to.

Is there
a better time of day to have
hypnosis?
No, not really,
but if you're worried about
being so tired and falling asleep
(because you will feel wonderfully
relaxed) we will find different
inductions to keep that from
happening. So you'll be relaxed
but alert.
Can
it help me with my pain or nausea?
Absolutely. But
with pain we need a doctor's
letter to confirm that it is
appropriate for you to have
hypnosis treatments.
How
successful is hypnosis for weight
control and will I have to give
up my favorite foods?
It's very successful,
if you are serious and dedicated.
You will still enjoy the foods
you want to. However the quantities
will be reduced and through
hypnosis the appetite is satisfied
and the inclination towards
a healthy diet is intensified.
How
successful is smoking cessation
through hypnosis?
90% successful
for at least a year.
With
hypnosis will I still crave
a cigarette?
No, not if you don't want to.
We will include that in the
smoking cessation program we
tailor for you.
Will
I gain weight when I quit smoking?
You might to start with, but
that weight will come off in
the second or third week of
your non-smoking program.
