Welcome |
Talk about
extremes! I have just returned from Gestalt therapy
training in New York, where I learned new techniques and
awareness to bring to the clinic, the teaching, and
myself, and enjoyed the deep inner-work process and
atmosphere of gentle peace in the classroom.
|
 | Then, WHAM! the shock of
walking out to the street at the end of the day! All senses
assaulted from outside the colours, the noise, the crowds,
the sunshine and heat. From one extreme to another. That in
itself was a powerful balancing experience.
And so I
wonder, where else in life do we put ourselves in the way of
such extreme change? How do we make sure we have balance? For
you, can you achieve balance in more subtle ways, or do you
need the extreme to end up somewhere in the
middle?

| Find the Time to Find Your Passion |
| by Mark David
Gerson | |
|
|
 |
I have a friend. Let's call
him Jason. Jason is an enthusiastic, passionate sort of
guy, easily excited by all my projects, always ready to
leap in and cheer me on. He's great to have around. Who
wouldn't want a friend who's unfailingly eager to assist
you in the realization of your dreams?
| |
But Jason has a problem. As tuned in to
my life as he is, he's always struggling in his own. As
plugged into my passions as he is, his never seem to be
achievable. They're always just beyond his grasp, often
for lack of financing...often because he's not truly
clear on what those dreams are.
Jason has no end
of schemes to make the money necessary to launch his
projects. Yet scheme after scheme, as promising as each
looks, falls flat, leaving him dissatisfied.
Despite all that, Jason is an incredibly
powerful being. I don't know many people whose inner
strength and manifestation potential match his. Yet that
power and potential are not presenting themselves in his
life. What's going on?
What's going on is
that Jason is so plugged into other people's passions
and enthusiasms he can't truly touch his own. He's so
invested in his role as facilitator of others' dreams,
he has no energetic space to facilitate his own. All his
passion is directed away from his soul's yearning, his
heart's desire, his basest need.
Jason isn't one
person. He's a composite of people I know and have known
male and female and includes aspects of who I once
was.
Here's the secret the Jasons of this world
have yet to grasp: Their success is tied not to my
passions but to their own. For Jasons to experience the
success they long for, they must connect not with what
they think they want but with what their hearts sing out
for them to be and do.
In my e-book, The
Voice of the Muse: Answering the Call to Write, I
write about the difference between a good idea and the
right idea:
There's a
difference between a good idea and the right idea,
between an idea that is anyone's for the taking and one
that is uniquely yours, one that's right for you, right
now.... Anyone can take a good
idea and give it shape and substance. Some can do it
better than you, some not as well as you.
Nobody can take the idea that
sings to your soul and perform the kind of alchemy on it
that you can.
The "right idea" is your
passion. The "good idea" will be someone else's. But why
does it matter?
Because the right idea your
passion is the fire that fuels your prosperity and
your joy. It's what connects you with the current of
infinite flow in all aspects of your life. When you fuel
your passion with your energy, your passion will fuel
your life. Whether or not that passion prospers you
directly (at least initially), it will prosper you. The
laws of the Universe demand it.
Have you
identified your passion? Not what you think it is but
what your Divine Self knows it to be?
If not,
now's the time

| Organic: Call It Quantum Food |
| by Brit Elders |
| |
|
|
 |
Energy and food they
go hand in hand. Without food, you have no energy.
But as you bite into a ripe organic tomato, you
may not realize that the energy you're getting
from it stems from a larger consciousness than the
nutrients it provides your body. Energy is an
unseen power, a life force that interacts with us
in more ways than we
realize.
| Begin with
earth. Rich, dark, fragrant soil, full of
natural organisms that help produce the nutrients that
feed a seedling and create a strong healthy plant, earth
is a living energy.
Visit the
farmers. They do not know you, but they care
enough about the Earth, about the environment, and about
you to nurture the soil with natural compost and without
chemical fertilizers that kill the living energy of the
soil.
Hold the tiny seed. A whole,
unaltered, naturally regenerating seed will provide you
with crop after crop of delicious nutrition. This seed
has not been genetically modified; it's pure and carries
with it the energy of its ancestors.
Watch the
growing season. The seed sprouts and grows,
strong and healthy, bearing the energy of the soil and
the energy of the farmers until it finally produces a
food filled with nutrients and energy and unpolluted by
chemical pesticides.
It's harvest
time. The tomato is not picked while it is green
and still gathering energy. Harvesters wait until it is
ripe, colourful, and full of the energy that helped it
develop to its best.
Take a trip to the
grocer's or farmer's market. When you pick the
tomato up, its skin is smooth and firm, not waxy and
soft. You are feeling its energy. Your mouth waters in
anticipation of its taste.
It's time for
dinner. You gently wash the tomato and place it
on the cutting board. It will be the perfect addition to
your salad. But
do you stop and think about where that
tomato originated? About the care of the farmer who
planted it in rich organic soil and cared for it as it
grew? Do you think about all of the energy that has gone
into providing you with this tasty
delicacy?
Food, its source, how it was grown, and
how it is consumed are a luxury we too often take for
granted. The next time you are in the market and pick up
an organic tomato, remember its source and the energy it
will carry into your body. It's not just about the
nutrients.

COOLING THE
FLASH: A PUBLIC WORKSHOP FOR WOMEN WHO ARE
DEALING WITH SYMPTOMS OF MENOPAUSE
Have you ever removed
layers of clothes, opened windows, and fanned
yourself in response to a hot flash?
Perhaps you have awoken from a deep
sleep to throw off the covers only to find that
you also needed to change drenched nightclothes
and soggy bedsheets?
If so, you are not
alone. In 2005, four million Canadian women had
reached menopause. Of all the symptoms of
menopause (which include insomnia, fatigue,
anxiety, depression, and weight gain), hot
flashes can have the most dramatic effect on our
lives.
Pharmaceutical medications can be
helpful, but not every woman is able to use
them, and drugs can carry potential risks. Isn't
there a completely safe and effective way to
manage menopause?
Yes, there is
hypnosis.
The Ontario Hypnosis Centre
introduces an exciting and effective program:
Cooling the Flash, led by Shawn Gallagher, an
experienced Board-certified hypnotherapist with
years of expertise in women's issues. In a
dynamic group format, you will receive
- training in self-hypnosis (a powerful tool
for life);
- four hypnosis sessions;
- a hypnosis recording on CD, suitable for
daily use; and
- a workbook with scripts, helpful coping
strategies, and a diary to record your progress.
Dates: Aug 10, 17, 24 and Nov
21 from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. Location:
Downtown Toronto Fee: $300.00 +
GST
