Welcome |
We're celebrating
our 10th year of the Ontario Hypnosis Centre School and
Clinic and are very excited about achieving this
milestone. It's all thanks to you, our clients, students
and customers. |
 | To thank you for your
support, we have developed an e-book called The Hypnosis
Power Guide. If you would like a copy of this guide, send
an e-mail to info@ont-hypnosis-centre.com
and we will gladly send you one for free. As another gift, we
will be offering a different hypnosis CD each month of 2007
for just $10 -- only through this LifeChanger.
And
talking of celebration, we've just come off celebrating the
3rd annual World Hypnotism Day. We had a terrific event in
Toronto with nearly 200 people attending and lots of media
coverage.
Our colleagues all across Canada held
events, some small, some large, but all celebrating the power
of hypnosis and how it can help change your life.
New Research Project: Please let us know your
perspective on hypnosis by taking a quick survey of just 10
questions. It will take only two or three minutes of your
time, and we'd love your input. Just click the link below or
copy and paste it into your browser to get started -- and
thanks!
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=24053137782
This year, as you plan your year, don't think about
what you want to change, rather focus on what you want to
celebrate. And make 2007 the year you are kind to yourself.
Namaste, Georgina

| Colour Your Home Healthy |
| by Celeste
Keller | |
|
|
 |
WARNING: What you are about to
read may cause you to surround yourself with real
colours. | |
My name is Celeste Keller and I am a
colour junkie. Trained as a classical painter, a Feng
Shui practitioner, an interior decorator and a colour
consultant, I feel it is my duty to break people out of
their neutral colour habits. It's time to change our
stagnating, anesthetizing, beige ways. We are in
desperate need of vibrant, beautiful, invigorating
colours that will bring our homes and our energy to
life!
If you feel you may be one of those people
living in a space lacking colour and would like to make
some improvements in your life, then grab a pen and some
paper and let's not waste another beige second.
Step 1 Make sure you are in a good,
positive mood. Suspend all your fears and self-doubts
and just relax. Take a really deep breath, hold it and
fill it with all the fears you may be feeling about
colour. Then let it go, fears and all. **It is important
to feel your way through this exercise, not think your
way through it.
Step 2 Go through your
home room by room. Spend a few minutes in each room,
paying close attention to how you feel as you are in
each room. Pay closest attention to the rooms you spend
most of your time in…your bedroom, your den, and your
kitchen. Take notes.
Step 3 Be aware
of the colours in each room. Do they raise your chi? (My
what? Your chi. 'Chi' loosely translates to
'energy.') Do the colours make you feel something? Are
these feelings positive or negative or non-existent?
Take notes.
Step 4 Have a look at the
objects in each room. How does each object make you
feel? What colours are these objects? Keep taking notes.
Step 5 Go to your bedroom closet, open
it up and have a look at your clothes. Yes, even the
clothes on the floor. How do you feel? Is your chi
responding to the different colours? In what way? More
notes, please.
Step 6 Once you've gone
through each room, gather your notes and let's examine
your findings.
I had my husband do this exercise
in our home and this is what he found. Almost every room
makes him feel blah. Certain objects that he has made
and that he has acquired through traveling make him feel
happy. Cluttered areas make him feel tired. The
solarium, which looks out onto his pond and garden, make
him feel relaxed and rejuvenated. The storage area,
where he houses a lot of his tools, makes him feel
useful and excited.
We recently moved into our
home. The previous owner had painted the entire home in
pale, beigey yellow. BLAH. In our den, my husband
installed a new, modern fireplace and mantle and I
applied metallic copper plaster to the walls flanking
the fireplace. HAPPY. The office is where papers and
books accumulate. TIRED. The solarium is filled with big
windows from wall to wall allowing us to see the entire
back garden and pond. RELAXING and REJUVENATING. The
storage area has a wooden workstation, is painted in a
bluish-grey tone and is filled with tools. MACHO.
What does all this mean? The colours of your
home and its objects have a huge effect on YOU and your
physical and mental well-being. I have discovered that
although colour has psychological effects on all of us,
the emotional effects are specific to each of us.
Make sure you surround yourself with all the
colours YOU love, colours that uplift YOU and make YOU
feel alive. Calling in a colour consultant is an
excellent way to take the guesswork out of the
overwhelming colour choices but YOU need to be the
inspiration, not the consultant and definitely not the
designer trends.

Have you ever removed
layers of clothes, opened windows and fanned
yourself in response to a hot flash? Perhaps you
have been woken from a deep sleep to throw off the
covers only to find that you also needed to change
drenched nightclothes and soggy bedsheets?
| If so, you are not alone.
In 2005, four million Canadian women had reached
menopause.[1] Of all of the symptoms of menopause,
including insomnia, fatigue, anxiety, depression and
weight gain, hot flashes can have the most dramatic
effect on our lives.
Pharmaceutical medications
can be helpful, but not every woman is able to use them
and drugs can carry potential risks.
Isn't there
a completely safe and effective way to help you through
menopause?
Yes, there is -- hypnosis.
| "We conclude that hypnosis appears to be a
feasible and promising intervention for HF [hot
flashes], with a potential to improve quality of
life and insomnia." [2]
