Volume 2, Issue 9

Welcome

September is an opportunity for new beginnings. It's starting back to school. It's new clothes and a wardrobe change-over. It's the Jewish New Year.
For some, it's the start of a new job. Yes, headhunters are finding corporations are recruiting for Fall as they gear up for their end-of-year success reports.

We're also starting new this Fall. We have a blog now and a new movie on your computer screen at www.themindmovie.com. If you like them, pass them on, and start something new for yourself and your friends.

Wishing you a wonderful new beginning this Fall.

Namaste,
Georgina

P.S. I have a question. If we can put solar panels on the space station, why can't we put them on all our homes? We could save on electricity and save our planet. Read more about NASA's solar panels at CNN.com.

P.P.S. I'm hosting a Shirley MacLaine chat room on October 9th from 8 - 9 pm Eastern. We'll discuss past life and life between lives regression. "See" you there.
New Images of the "Brain In The Heart"
by Brian Kabaker

"The dominant force in the whole body is that guiding principle which we term mind or intellect. This is firmly lodged in the mid-region of the breast. Here is the place where fear and alarm pulsate. Here is felt the caressing touch of joy. Here, then, is the seat of the intellect and the mind."
- Lucretius, On the Nature of Things, Book III (circa 55 B.C.)
In the last ten years, new evidence has accumulated for the function of what is being described as the "little brain in the heart." The identification of this "intrinsic heart brain" may have a profound effect on how we view the heart.

This "little brain" has the capacity to process sensory information arising from within the heart and this information is then sent to the brain. The information the heart sends can have profound effects on brain activity and function.

By gaining a deeper understanding of the makeup and structure of how the central nervous system interacts with the autonomic nervous system including "the heart brain," we are unraveling the mechanisms that explain how stress and negative emotions can lead to arrhythmias and other serious heath challenges.

This is especially important in today's stressful world as people's ability to maintain their mental, emotional, and physical balance is constantly challenged. When our nervous system is overwhelmed by repeated exposure to stress the effects can be devastating.

While scientists grapple with the intricacies of our system, we can do something about preventing disease and increasing our vitality and well-being through learning to manage our stress. One of the ways you can learn to exert more control over stress is through the practice of initiating a state of psycho-physiological coherence.

We can do this by practicing HeartMath tools and observing the effect they are having on us with the Freeze-Framer®.

Numerous health care professionals have said that the fastest way for their clients and patients to achieve a state of psycho-physiological coherence is through the use of the Freeze-Framer®.

To view new microscopic images of the neurons that comprise the "heart brain," visit http://www.heartmath.org/research/our-heart-brain.html

We especially want to thank J. Andrew Armour, M.D. for his ground breaking discoveries and for providing us with these new photos.

Please remember, the benefits of HeartMath tools and technology can be experienced and enjoyed by everyone regardless of age, gender or health condition. To view the flash video, go to http://www.heartmath.org/research/stress2_movie.html.

You can learn more about the "little brain in the heart" in these two e-books: Neurocardiology (written for health professionals) and Science of the Heart (for everyone). Visit http://www.heartmath.org/store/e-books/index.html.

The Mindset for Success
by Tom Nicoli, BCH, CI

So you want to be successful. That's great! I want to be successful too, and always have. But wanting something isn't enough. When I look back at when I began that driving passion to become "successful" I recall how I did what almost all people do on their quest to success -- I spun in circles.
The problem was that I never actually sat down and thought about what success is. How would I know when I was successful? Why did I think I wasn't successful right then? What is success?

Have you asked yourself these questions yet? It's necessary to know where you're going so you will know when you get there.

The most common misconception about the word "success" is that almost everyone thinks it relates to money. It can, but that's not the point of success. What we are all really looking for, as it is defined in the Merriam-Webster dictionary, is a "favorable or desired outcome." With that in mind, success can be achieved in any area of our lives. We simply want to live and have favorable or desired outcomes in any area.

Setting Goals
Though you may not be in sales, this example demonstrates the importance of setting specific goals:

Among surveyed independent salespeople, six out of 10 do not set outcomes or goals at all! This is very sad because this group with no goals earns the least among all salespeople. Three out of 10 set general earnings goals and they earn twice as much as those setting no goals. Fewer than one in 10 set specific goals and these people earn THREE times as much as those who set no goals at all.

The Key Factor for Success
All actions and beliefs are based in the subconscious mind. Life changes and personal success are easier and more comfortable to achieve when we remove conscious analytical struggle ("will power"), and use the ability and power within us. You probably have heard that what the mind believes, the body achieves. We are what we think.

The way we guide our behaviors is through guided imagery, visualization, meditation...self-hypnosis. In only 15-20 minutes per day, you can begin to create the mindset for success.
  • Sit comfortably and quietly, undisturbed.
  • Allow yourself to relax and imagine your specific goal.
  • In your imagination, act as if what you want already exists.
  • Do this daily and you will be surprised at how quickly you realize the Mindset for Success.
To expedite your mindset for success, you can benefit from the guidance of the popular audio programs at www.tomnicoli.com and the Life Coaching Program at www.skyrocketpersonalsuccess.com. Here's to your success!
