Q: How do I register?
A:

Click on register in top-right menu, and fill out the online registration form. By default you will be assigned a small image (AVATAR), which you can remove by deleting the text in the AVATAR text box. You may also replace this default image with another if it can be accessed online and you know its URL

 

Q:

Can anyone join the OHC Forum?

A:

This is not a public forum and requires special password access. Only graduates of the Ontario Hypnosis Centre may join.

 

Q:

How do I post for the first time?

A:

Click on Forum that you want to enter, click on New Post to write a new message. Click on a message if you want to read it, click on New Reply to post your comments. You can delete your message if you do not like it and want to start over.

 

Q:

How do I change my assigned password?

A:

Login with the password you were assigned, then click profile in the top-right menu. There you can change your assigned password and other profile options.

 

Q: What if I forget my password or user name?
A:

Click on lost password? in the top-left menu. An email containing your user name and password will be sent to your registered email address.

 

Q:

Can I keep my email address confidential?

A:

Yes, by making the proper selection in your profile. This can be changed easily any time you are logged in.

 

Q:

How do I answer someone’s message?

A:

Enter the Discussion Forum where the message is posted, open the message by clicking on it, click on New Reply button, and type your message. You can include scripts in your message by copying them from your word processor and pasting into the message text area.

 

Q:

Can I send a private email to another member who has posted?

A:

Yes. There is a link to the author’s email in every message. If the member has not posted and has elected to keep his/her email address confidential, you will not be able to send a private an email.

 

Q:

Can I chat with someone online?

A:

You may chat with members if they subscribe to ICQ or AOL Instant Messenger and their access information is contained is in their profile.

 

Q: How do I use the smilies and icons?
A:

While writing a message, select icons and smilies by clicking on them. The program will insert snippets of code making your icons visible after you post the message. The same applies to font styles and colours. Click first, then type between tags generated by the program.

What are the rules of using the OHC Forum?

A:

General decency rules plus rules defined by OHC.

 

Q:

Can I show a photo or other kind of attachment?

For security reasons, photos and other attachments are not permitted. You may, however, show images if they are available online. Do this by clicking on the Image button and typing its URL. The same applies to the other files - just insert their URLs into your message.

 

Q:

How do I get an OHC Approved script?

A:

These scripts can be found in the Forum called OHC Approved Scripts and are posted by the Administrator. Simply open the message, then copy and paste the text into a word processing document.

 

Q:

Where can I find scripts posted by other members?

A:

Scripts posted by other members can be found in the General Script Exchange category, under the Forum called Before you post. Again, simply open the message, then copy and paste the text into a word processing document.

 

Q:

Can I see a list of all the members?

A:

You can see a complete list of user names by clicking on the Members link in the top-right menu.

 

Q:

Can I find out who I’m talking to?

A:

Yes, if you click on the author’s user name, you will see information (including email address if allowed by the user). If you can’t see the email address, you can still send a private email by opening the original message and clicking on the email icon at the top.

 

Q:

How do I contact the Administrator?

A:

In every message there is an Alert Administrator icon. Click on it and send your message.

 

Q:

How can I start a new forum and become the moderator? What does a moderator do?

A:

A moderator controls messages and users in individual forums. Only the Administrator can assign a moderator.
